December 2009

I just added my net worth on networthiq.com. Here is some stuf that has happening lately:
  1. I am in contract to buy a house via short sale. There is nothing short about a short sale. After so many deals have fell apart in the last year, let's hope this one goes through.
  2. I feel off the clothes shopping wagon. How do I get rid of the little voice that says "Buy it! You deserve it!"
  3. I have been working on my streams of income strategy. Again this will constantly envolving until I am happy with the strategy.
  4. I celebrated my birthday in a laid back manner. True to form, I had a I-have-not-accomplished-enough moment or two (or three).
  5. I bought an IPod Nano
  6. I battled friends without jobs who want me to buy luxury items for them under the guise of I will get paid back 'later'. How do you tell an unemployed friend that you will not buy them that shiny new toy that they don't need right now?

I Am Still Around

Still around. I recently went on a quick Caribbean getaway with the boyfriend and it is taking me a while to catch up.

Today I calculated my net worth then promptly left it in my office. So I will update it tomorrow. By then I hope to be in full force. Until then, here is an interesting link:

Can't find a job? Try China

Last week I had this thought: to be employed (I am thinking W2 employee not business owner) in a role you crave you have to be flexible to move to new cities or countries. The facts in Can't find a job? Try China echo that thought.

Pardon me for the lack of posts over the next week to 10 days. I am off to Central America -- Costa Rica to be exact. My plans? To check out volocanos, wildlife and to sweat out toxins in natural hot springs.

Becoming a Digital Nomad, Freelance Edition: Day 16 of 30w30d

Becoming a Digital Nomad, Freelance Edition: Day 16 of 30w30d cause me to wonder: can me my job even be freelanced? Maybe something related to job can be freelanced? Of cource any income will be a supplement to my passive income.

Tours!

Last night it suddenly occured to me. Tours. Not a full RTW that will tire me out and cause me to miss home. Instead have regional tours. or example, Asia (which I am most interested in):

Cambodia
India
Philippines
Vietnam
Thailand
Japan
Singapore
South Korea

The Not-So-Secret Trick to Finding Cheap Airfare: Day 15 of 30w30d

The Not-So-Secret Trick to Finding Cheap Airfare: Day 15 of 30w30d has some points that are contradicted by The Practical Nomad: How to Travel Around the World by Edward Hasbrouck.

That said, I had no idea that Kayak had a region section (http://www.kayak.com/buzz). I have a new toy!
